Brain Tumor Resection
For patients with brain tumors, surgery is usually needed. Dr. Hatef’s goals of surgery are to remove the maximum amount of a tumor while still remaining safe and preventing new neurologic symptoms.
Many tumors can be completely resected, while in some cases it is most prudent to de-bulk the tumor as much as possible while protecting the normal brain. During your meeting with Dr. Hatef, he will show you your MRI scan and take the time to explain exactly what kind of craniotomy surgery is needed to remove your tumor.
Before and after surgery, Dr. Hatef works with a team of oncologist and radiation oncologists. He believes that close collaboration among all specialties involved in treated brain tumors results in better outcomes for patients.
